South Gate Community Association NewsletterHello Neighbors, As promised in our last letter, the South Gate Board will be sending a newsletter out every month after the community board meeting to update you on any SG news that may be helpful, informative, or interesting to you, our neighbors.

IT’S A SIGN – Well Almost. As many of you know the beautiful “Welcome to South Gate” sign that we had on Siesta Drive was destroyed in a car vs sign accident. The board is working diligently on reviewing proposals to make sure the sign is replaced.
What is happening at Westfield Mall? – On July 25 Benderson held a community workshop to share plans for reclassifying the Crossings at Siesta Key, better known to most of us as South Gate Mall. A motion was made after a request from a SG member to form a committee that will stay on top of what the plans are and how they will impact the South Gate community. If you are interested in joining that committee, please contact janemarymeehan@yahoo.com
Fun and Fitness! – Starting August 16, Suzzane Wright will be offering Aqua workouts at the pool. For additional dates and times check out the calendar at southgatefl.com/events Encourage Messaging that Matters. - After our last letter went out, we saw a strong uptick in membership. Whether you are interested in the pool, community events or a focus on preserving the beauty of South Gate, your membership helps. Please encourage your neighbors to become a South Gate Member. The more SG members the stronger we will be.
It’s important – Our deed restriction committee would like to make sure you either check the deed restriction guidelines or contact them before constructing a fence, adding to your home, parking a trailer on your property etc… South Gate is a deed restricted community, and we would like you to be aware of the of these guidelines while making plans for your home. Enforcing the rules after the fact is not the committee’s preference. What Do You Think? – We would like to offer more activities for our members. Are you interested in a community garden, Bocci Ball, or a kayak launch? We want to hear your feedback.
