Trash Day Changes

Trash Days Change Starting Tomorrow 3/31!

Sarasota County is changing trash pickup days starting Monday, March 31st. Don’t get caught off guard—check your new schedule now!

Make sure your trash and recycling bins are placed at least 3 feet apart in approved bins at the curb as waste and recycling are now both automated. Yard waste is not automated so repurpose your old cans for yard waste.

Pool Now Open

The Community Center Pool is NOW Open for the Season!

As part of the $200 Community Association fee you have access to the Community Center pool. Stop by the office M-F 10am-12pm to sign the waiver and pay the $6 to get your key. If you aren’t a member yet, it’s not too late to join. Join Today!

There are limited pool memberships available for people outside of the community. Stop by the center to inquire.

Phillippi Creek Dredging

We had a great turn out at the Storm Water Workshop at the County Commission on March 12th, and at the Resilient SRQ feedback meeting on March 14th. We are working on creating an Action Network to help attend important county meetings. Stay tuned for a separate email update on Phillippi Creek Dredging.

Member Fees Due

Member fees for the year are due April 1st. These fees help enforce deed restriction, support our historic Victor Lundy Building, maintain the community center pool, and help fund member events. Join Today!

Next Board Meeting

Next Board Meeting is Tuesday April 8th at 6:30pm. The Board will be voting on Deed Restriction renewals for Units 5 & 7. See you at the center!

Community Protectors

During most board meetings, we encounter neighbors facing challenges due to deed restriction violations, impacting their homes and lives. We're committed to aiding them and urging violators to uphold covenants vital to our community's well-being and property values.

How can you contribute?

• Become a member! Your $200 annual fee supports our Deed Restriction Committee (DRC) in safeguarding our community.

• Join our DRC to directly assist in protecting our community.

• Numerous tasks require assistance. Reach out to Deeds@southgatefl.com to get involved.

Let's unite to preserve our community's integrity.

Become a Gator Captain!

The South Gate Board is working diligently to strengthen our neighborhoods and build community. One of the board's initiatives is to continue growing our Gator Captain program.

Gator Captains contribute the following

• Build Community in their neighborhood (unit)

• Share events coming up at the Community Center

• Welcome new neighbors with a gift (this will be provided by the
  Board)

• Help neighbors understand Deed Restrictions

• Attend Gator Captain Meetings the 2nd Monday of the month from 5:30 - 6:30PM.

Gator Captains will be provided all the materials needed to get started.
