Howdy, South Gators! The heat of summer is upon us and, from cruising the ‘hood this past week or so, it looks like many of us South Gators may be on pre-back-to-school getaways! Hopefully those who are here are making good use of the cool & sparkling South Gate Pool! (Pool memberships remain available, of course, so get yours while it is hot if you haven’t yet!) We had a lovely event last weekend, full recap below, where the fabulous crew from Florida Studio Theatre held a performance just for us at the community center - so fun! Thank you to FST for including us as a location for the wonderful On the Road Again show, and to all of you South Gators who attended & brought your friends! Also, a BIG thank-you to member Ann Paquin, who is responsible for the FST recap below, plus the home & pet of the month sections. This month she has also written a feature on the adorable Little Free Art Gallery in South Gate, so be sure to scroll down & check it out! There will be a community clean-up at The Oasis this coming weekend, and the board meeting this month is one you might consider attending as well even if that isn’t usually your jam. Tevatan, a local hospitality company who specializes in optimizing underutilized properties (such as the Bridge Street Pier and Hart’s Landing), will be there to present a proposal to the board & community on how we could work cooperatively to improve things even more at our community center. We’ll certainly keep all members in the loop once the proposal has been presented, but if you’d like to be there and hear everything first-hand and ask questions, please try to come!
