Support the Future of Our South Gate Community

As proud residents of South Gate, we have the opportunity to strengthen and support our neighborhood by electing three new Board Members for 2025. According to our By-laws, three Directors will be elected this December to serve a three-year term.

If you're interested in running for a Board position or would like more details, please reach out to our Civics Director, Kelly Morgan, at civics@southgatefl.com, or join us at the upcoming Board Meetings on the second Tuesday of September and October at 6:30 PM, held at the Community Center.

Community Pool Fundraiser

Did you know that the South Gate Pool has been our community’s go-to spot for cooling off and having fun for 68 years? It’s been a place where memories are made, but like anything that’s well-loved, it needs some TLC.

Recently, Hurricane Debby flooded the pump room under the pool deck, and the room already needs reinforcement. After receiving preliminary quotes, we’ve found that the necessary work will cost between $50,000 and $90,000—a sum far beyond what our $100 annual pool membership fees can cover.

That’s why we’re reaching out to you. We’re hoping to raise at least half of what’s needed to keep the pool going strong for another 68 years. Every little bit helps!

Food truck Friday night at the Center!

Mark your calendars for Friday, September 20th, 2024, and join us for a night of delicious food and community fun! Starting at 6 PM, we’re hosting a Food Truck Event open to the public at the South Gate Community Center.

Bring your family, friends, and appetite as we celebrate with a variety of local food trucks serving up tasty bites for everyone. Stay tuned for updates on the trucks that will be rolling in!

We’re seeking Gator Captains!

The South Gate Board is working diligently to strengthen our neighborhoods and build community. One of the board's initiatives is to continue growing our Gator Captain program.

Gator Captains contribute the following

• Build Community in their neighborhood (unit)

• Share events coming up at the Community Center

• Welcome new neighbors with a gift (this will be provided by the
  Board)

• Help neighbors understand Deed Restrictions

• Attend Gator Captain Meetings the 2nd Monday of the month from 5:30 - 6:30PM.

Gator Captains will be provided all the materials needed to get started.

We currently have Captains for units 9, 10, 12, 24, 26, 27, 28, and 29. We’re hoping to fill a position for every unit within our community!

Community Protectors

During most board meetings, we encounter neighbors facing challenges due to deed restriction violations, impacting their homes and lives. We're committed to aiding them and urging violators to uphold covenants vital to our community's well-being and property values.

How can you contribute?

• Become a member! Your $100 annual fee supports our Deed Restriction Committee (DRC) in safeguarding our community.

• Join our DRC to directly assist in protecting our community.

• Numerous tasks require assistance. Reach out to Veeanna or Marian at Deeds@southgatefl.com to get involved.
