Your annual membership fee directly supports:

Historic Preservation. Safeguarding our iconic Victor Lundy-designed property, grounds and swimming pool. All South Gate members and non-South Gate members are eligible for use of the pool. Please stop by the office to obtain a copy of the pool rules, a key and sign the release.
Community Renewal and Membership Sponsored Events. Membership provides access to exclusive events such as the Easter Celebration, Spring Splash Party, Fourth of July Festivities, Food Truck Fridays, Sarasota MOD Week, and our Holiday parties.
Monthly On-going Activities. We hosts groups for your engagement such as tai chi, yoga, self-improvement, bridge, etc. which are held at the center. Please refer to our monthly calendar for dates and times. (Donations or additional fees may be applicable).
Enforcement: Preserving the integrity and value of our homes in connection with any existing deed restrictions.

We encourage all South Gate subdivision owners to consider joining the board to help guide the future of our community. Everyone is welcome to join a committee to enhance our club. Your voice and participation ensure that South Gate continues to thrive as a vibrant and welcoming group!

Additional Details

South Gate Community Association dues are billed annually and are due for all active members by March 31st of each year to maintain an active status.
Membership is divided into three tiers: South Gate Members, Association Members and Business Members. Dues may vary per category. Please check with the office regarding the same.
Dues are not currently prorated, but reduce in Oct.

Why join SGCA?

The South Gate Community Association (SGCA) was founded and incorporated as a not-for-profit voluntary association in 1956. The association owns the historic Victor Lundy South Gate Center, which is a Sarasota area historically designated building. Our swimming pool is vintage and is the oldest continuously operated swimming pool in the Sarasota area. Our goal is to maintain and preserve these unique amenities for future generations. Help us!

Although we rent the Center for events, including weddings, parties, celebrations of life, and similar activities, these rentals only cover a portion of our costs. Your membership and ideas are needed. Please Get Involved!

The funds raised through the voluntary memberships and event rentals go to support the (i) on-going preservation of our historic center, including the grounds and pool areas, (ii) deed restriction enforcement, and (iii) civic and social activities.
